Frame
The robust, torsinally resistant main frame is designed for a minimum working widht of 2.50 metres.It is made up of strong steel sections and can be hydaulically telescoped to both sides to give an overall working widht of 5.0 metres. Modular supplements allow the machine to be used for paving carriageways up to a maximum widht of 9.0 metres.
Drive unit
The slipform paver SP 850 is driven by a powerful water-cooled 6-cylinder diesel engine for driving the hydraulic pumps.
The engine operates with direct injection of the diesel fuel. İt meets the emission standards EPA II of the US Encironment Protection Authority. Soundproofing is provied as Standard equipment.
Hydraulic system
All connected modules, such as the clawler tracks, viblators, concrete spreader, finishing beam and super-smoother, are driven by the Standard hydraulic pump system with mutually independent hydraulic pumps. This system also ensures correct operation of all cylinder control functions.
The hydraulic pumps are driven by the diesel engine via an auxiliary transmission. The hydraulic fluid is filtered via combined return and suction filters (10 micron abolute). The hydraulic fluid for the control functions is filtered by pressure filters (6 micron abolute).
The slipform paver can also be operated with biodegradeable hydraulic fluid on request.
Travel Drive and tracks
The machine is equipped widht four individually and hydraucally driven crawler tracks. Paving and travel speeds can be infinitely varied in forward and reverse gears.
As a Standard feature, swivel arms can be used for optimum positioning of the tracks in line with the conditions prevailling on site.
Steering
The machine is equipped with hydraulic steering manually operated from the operator’s platform or automaticially via the steering sensors which are supplied as Standard equipment for scanning a grade line.
Control and levelling system
The slipform paver is controlled via a digital control system(PLC). Operator prompts are output on the LC display .Additional ventilation of the control cabinet can be installed for operation under exterme conditions.
The Standard levelling system operates with proportional action and is equipped with level control sensors and steering sensors. The sensors are suspended with adjustable height and range. The hydraulic cylinders for the tracks have a stroke lengjt of 1.000 mm. A wire tensioning system is additionally available as a useful suplement.
Concerte slab paving kit
The kit for paving concrete slabs is of modular design.The concrete is distribulet by a spreading units can be increased by adding modules.
The slipform compires a basic element measuring 2.50 m in widht and can be extended up to 9.0 m. It comprises a suspaension for viblators, the slipform pan, hydraulically driven lateral form work and quick-release couplings for the hydraulic hoses. The maximum paving thickness is 450 mm (Thickness over 450 mm upon request).
Finishing beam and super smoother are supplied as Standard equipment. Lateral tie bar inserter for straight or angled tie bars, tşe bar inserted for longitudinal joints and dowel bar inserter (DBI)ara available as supplementary modules. All components can be adjusted tothe required paving widht. They can also be equipped with crowning device for paving carriageway slabs. The crowning device can be adjusted by up to %3 via hydraulic cylinders.
Various profile strips can be integrated into the formwork for slipforming a whole variety of lateral profiles. Supplementary equipment is also available for inserting a galvanized metal strip (K-Way former).
Vibrators
The SP 850 is routinely prepared for operation with 24 vibrators. Additional vibrators can also be used if required. The viblators are driven by a high-frequency generator with a drive rating of 60 kVA.
Operator’s platform
The operating elements are arranged clearly and ergonomically. The LC display for the control system can display information in several languages as a Standard feature.
From the platform, the operator has a clear view of all the operating elements, as well as of all the most important points on the slipform paver and on the site.
High-pressure cleaning system
Thanks to the high-pressure cleaning system, the slipform paver can be cleaned as soon as the work is complete. Water is withdrawn from the tank and delivered to the spray gun by a high-preassure pump. It is supplied complate with 20 metre lenght of hose so that the entire slipform paver can be cleaned by this system.
Safety
The machine includes numerous safety features and mechanisms meeting stringent Europan safety standards, such as the Accident Prevention Regulations. The SP 850 has also been tested by the employers liability insurance association and has beeb awarded the GS mark for “safety tested”.
Approptiate working lights permit safe operation of the machine even in darkness.
Transport
The machine is designed for self-loading. Loading and lashing lugs ensure that it can be securely retained for transport by truck or for loading by crane.
